Goa, a tourist paradise and the pearl of the orient and the king of the beaches, is situated on the western coastline of India and is dividable into two district, North Goa – the capital of city Panji and South Goa with the famous places like as Vasco-Da-Gama and Margao.

It was enlightened by the Indian Army from Portuguese colonisation on December 19, 1961 and became a Union Territory along with the enclaves of Daman and Diu on May 30, 1987. Goa became the 25th state of the Indian Republic. It is a witch casting a spell on all who step onto its silver sands and golden beaches.

One can explore and attracted by its lush hills and cool blue waters, cathedrals and coconut groves, spice plantations and paddy fields, sun, sand and sea.

The huge stretch of the Arabian Sea on the west shapes the amazing shoreline for which Goa is renowned. Goa is one of India’s major tourist attractions, attracting over a million visitors every year and it was fought over for centuries by kings of amazing colours.

Places to Visit

Panaji
Panaji is the capital of Goa with termed as the city "Panjim" by the Portuguese. It has lost a little of its shine, Rome of the East continues to draw admirers from across the world. One can explore here various numbers of buildings, including Holy Spirit Church mushroomed, spread over there. There are many places to explore in Panaji as The Church Square, The lady of Immaculate Conception Church, the Adilshah Palace, the state of Abba Faria, the Goa state museum, Biocholim - Mayem lake, the Menezes Braganza Institute, the Central Library, the Hindu Mahalaxmi temple, the Jama Masjid Mosque, the Chapel of St. Sebastian and the Miramar beach.

Beaches in North Goa
The wonderful and fabulous beaches are the prime attraction of the Goa that attracts over million visitors annually. Sinquerim, Candolim, Calangute, Baga, Anjuna, Vagator, Morjim, Miramar, Aguada and Arambol are the beaches that can be covered in the North Goa Circuit.

Other attractions in Goa are World Heritage Monument - Basilica of Bom Jesus, Sandy beaches, BITS Pilani Goa Division, National Institute of Ocenography (NIO), Five Star hotels and Resorts with Ayurvedic Massage Centres and Spa.

Beaches in South Goa
The south Goa beach circuit begins from Margao, the second most important city in Goa. Beginning from Majorda beach, a 20 kms long silvery white sand stretches across till the headland of Cabo de Rama.

Velsao, Majorda, Betalbatim, Colva, Benaulim, Varca, Cavelossim, Mobor, Betul and Palolem beaches are all interconnected.

Dudhsagar Waterfall
Dudhsagar - wonderful and exuberant waterfall, is located in the huge peaks of Western Ghats at Sanguem taluka and gives a glorious look of spectacle view to see especially in the monsoons when it is in bursting and enraged flow.

It emerges like tributaries of milk hastening down the edge from a distance. It is a great place for a day packed of excitement and gambol to be explored.

The Archaeological museum
The Archaeological museum has been maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and it has been working since 1964 in the abandoned convent of St. Francis of Assisi.

This museum has a fantastic collection of sculptures, paintings, old coins and other ancient items.
