Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer, well known as the Golden City and a popular ancient trading centre, has various famous fascinating and exotic attractions for its visitors or the tourists to explore accross the nation.

The havelis that were built by the merchants of the 19th century are lavishly carved from golden-yellow sandstones and are still famous place to visit in a beautiful condition. Jaisalmer is the largest district of Rajasthan and one of the largest in India.

Jaisalmer has bordered by Bikaner to the north, Indian border to the west and the southwest, Barmer and Jodhpur to the south and Jodpur, Bikaner district to the east.

The soil of the Jaisalmer is amazing due to a little rain turned it into the lavish green and has a prime attraction of its golden sand dunes and the slopes towards to the Indus valley. A descendent of the Yadav Clan, Rawal Jaisal and a Bhatti Rajut abandoned his fort at Lodurva and established a new capital – Jaisalmer on the Trikuta Hill. Jaisalmer is explored by both the Indian and the foreigner tourists, situated in the Thar Desert and scattered all over the golden desert land of Rajasthan.

There are various historical monuments with their glorious architecture and culture that can be explored but the prime attraction is the fort that is known as the Sonar Quila constructed by the sand stones – a picture of marvelous architecture.

The village can be explored by the camel safari in the remote Rajasthan. Attractions that are viewable here are camel safari, the traditional and ancient with full of culture and heritage the Village life, quite and amazing sand dunes, the waves of the golden sand and the sunset point among the sand dunes. The best time to visit here is November to February.
