Places to visit

Alappuzha
Alappuzha, the fabulous backwater, is one of the most attractive sites in Kerala. Alleppey, well known as the travelers' paradise, is the best gateway to explore the unspoiled countryside. It was founded by Raja Keshawadasan, Divan of Travanacore in 1762 and surrounded by the Arabian sea on the west, a vast network of lakes, lagoons and fresh water rivers, perfectly fitted to explore the home to diverse the animal and bird life.

It has a great importance now a days due to a popular backwater tourist center and it is also famous for its boat racing, houseboats, beaches, marine products and coir industry.

Munnar
Munnar, a beautiful small hill station, is set as well with the Kannan Devan Hills and known as the one of the most popular hill station of India, is adorned with lush green surroundings, lakes, reservoirs, forests, and tea estates. Munnar is located on the western ghat and 1600 m above from the sea level and has also the highest peak in the south India, Anamudi, which towers over 2695m.

There are varioustourist attractions in Munnar that can be explored like as the Devikulam, Nyayamakad, Rajamala and Eravikulam National park. Munnar has became famous for the adventure-seeking traveler, who have the interested in paragliding. It has some of the highest tea estates in the world.

Kottayam
Kottayam, another one of the magical backwater sight, attracts the tourists every year. It is a composition of the words Kotta as meaning fort and Akkam as meaning inside.

Kottayam is the mountainous region with scenic landscapes, backwaters, bird sanctuaries, temples and churches which make it a place of popular tourist attraction. It is lying below the sea level and popularly known as the land of lakes and latex and some of its nearby places are also a treat to the eyes.

Kumarakom
Kumarakom, a picturesque clean village, reflects the true natural beauty of Kerala and a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake, and a part of the Kuttanad region.

The famous Bird Sanctuary of the Kumarakom, spread across 14 acres, is a fantastic haunt of migratory birds and an ornithologist's paradise. Boat races, houseboat cruise, canoeing and fishing are the various attractions that make it a special place to explore. Kumarakom is the land of unique characteristics, lush paddy fields and highland with a hundred percent literacy.

Cochin
Kochi, well known as the Cochin and one of the principal seaports, is located in the Indian state of Kerala and 220 km. north of the state capital Thiruvananthapuram.

Kochi was the princely state which traces its lineage to the Kulasekhara and the seat of the kingdom of Cochin since 1102 CE. Cochin, known as the Queen of Arabian Sea, was a famous spice trade centre on the coast of Arabian Sea in the 14th century.

Successive waves of migration over the course of several millennia have made Kochi a cultural melting pot. One can explore its distinct colonial heritage and a blend of tradition and modernity and can realize the natural touch of nature, sea coast and various colors here.
