Different types of languages that are spoken in India are influenced with the diverse culture and the traditions on both the national and regional level.

In India near about 216 types of language are spoken by the group of more than 10000 peoples as one can explore 415 living languages in India.

Here are 18 language are the official languages that are mentioned in the eight schedule of the constitution. Devanagari well known as the Hindi is the official language of union of India and regional languages are the official languages of the states here.

English is also used India as the second language as for the authorities, legislative and judicially. It is used frequently in Nagaland and the Meghalaya. The languages of India are closely associated with the different ethnic group of India.

Indian languages are closely belongs to the two wide linguistic families know as the Indo-European with a branch Indo Aryan spoken be about 70 percent of population of India and another is Dravidian family spoken by the 22 percent of Indians.
Other languages in India which are running currently are the Austro-Asiatic and Tibeto-Burman. Indian has rich culture and heritage and has a great influence on various languages found in India.

Though ethnically Indians speak various languages, follow various religions, eat the most diverse varieties of food, there is still a richness in Indian arts and culture which is unparalleled anywhere else in the world.

Some of Indian language have a glorious historical background and are very ancient such as Sanskrit literature is more than 5000 year old and the Tamil is of 3000 years. Three quarters of India’s population is created by the speakers of the 54 different languages of the Indo-European families.

Indo-Aryan:- The first stage of the indo-Aryan languages was the Sanskrit in the northwest India before 1000 B.C. Later on Prakrit and Apabhramsha gave birth to the various regional languages which are followed by the Indian from the ancient age to the current India.

It is the most common language spokes by a wide majority of Indians such as Begali, Gujrati, Marathi, Punjabi, Rajasthani, Sindhi, Assamesse, Oriya etc. It came to india du to being the part of the Indo-Aryan family and spokes by the 74 percent peoples of India.

Dravidian:- Dravidian language make the figure of the southern India and spokes mostly there near about 250 million peoples of India follow this language family. It has no relation outside the Indian subcontinent. Being the second largest group of Indian language, it covers 25 percent of the total Indian population.

Dravidian Group can be classified in three main parts as Northern group, Central group and the Southern group. Although this group has borrowed many words from the Sanskrit language.

Tamil, Telgu, Kannada and Malayalam are four main languages of the Dravidian group which are in the official languages of India.

Some other languages are also spoke in India by a short community like as the Dravidian adivasi language named as Gondi, Oraon or Kurukh, Khond and Pajri etc.
