India, the land of philosophy and spirituality associated in the European imagination, is known as the birthplace of some religions, which are exists today in the current world. It is the most religious diverse nation in the world.

In India there is a majority of Hindus, which is about 80% and is known as the oldest religious and philosophical system in the world.

Islamic followers are about 13.4%, Christianity by 2.4%, and Sikhism by 1.86% and later on Buddhism and Jainism are arrive in the Indian sub-continents, which are presents world-wide.

Indian is world famous for their virtue of tolerance of other religions and secular outlook. Hinduism's origins include cultural elements of the Indus Valley Civilization, the Vedic religion of the Indo-Aryans and other Indian civilization.

Hinduism is supposed to be developed about 5000 years ago and later on other religions came in existence in India. Two religions in India developed around the 500 BC named as Buddhism and Jainism and these were very popular in India at the time of origination. They spread the philosophy not only in the Indian sub-continent but also to the east and south of India.

One new religion in India is the Sikhism and it was established in India in the 15th century and near about 2 percent Indians are Sikhs. There are other religious philosophies in India who believes in itself the other religion as it can be seen in the Lingayat of south India who other see them as a sect of Hinduism.

It was tried at the best level to adopt the modernity in the Hinduism by the reformers in the 19 th century. Other than the Hinduism there are large followers are of Islamic in India.

Hinduism produced a vast corpus of texts among them like the Rig Veda, Upanishads, Gita, Ramayana etc. There are some other religions in India which are followed by the communities like as Zoroastrianis, Judaism and the Bahai faith.

There are three main Gods in the Hinduism as Lord Shiva – well know as the Rudra – the destroyer, Lord Vishnu and the Lord Brahma – the creator of the universe and all are the fests of him. Others are the forms of these three main Gods.
