Varanasi

Varanasi, popularly known as the Banaras in the ancient days and very famous pilgrimage as the Holy City, is one of the oldest living cities in the world holding the great importance in the Hinduism related to their myth and feelings of their religion.

The Ghats
Varansi is vaey famous for its various holy Ghats as counted near about hundred ghats and every ghat preserves its own ancient marvelous glory in the pilgrimage characteristics of the city. The Dasashvamedh Ghat provides you an amazing view of the river facade. This is the ghat of the 10 (Das) horses (shiva) sacrificed (medh). Other fabulous ghats are the Asi, Barnasangam, Panchganga and Manikarnika, Ghats.

Alamgir Mosque
Alamgir Mosque is a combined structure of the Hindu and Mughal styles of the architecture and well known as Beni Madhav Ka Darera, built by Aurangzeb on the site of the Vishnu Temple, see across the Panchganga Ghat.

Sarnath
Sarnath is a temple devoted to Lord Shiva which is purely holy identity in Varanasi, having the links with Buddhism and Jainism. Various Buddhist architectures were focused at Sarnath between the 3rd century BC and the 11th century AD. The national emblem of India is the Ashoka Pillar of Sarnath and any other person out of India can not approached their. It was ruined by the Mughal Emperor, Aurangzeb which was later restored by Rani Ahilyabai of Indore in the 18th century. It is far apart as 10 km from the sacred city of Varanasi, where Buddha decided to convey his first oration. The ancient dictum Mantra, 'Buddham Sharanam Gachhami', owes its foundation to Sarnath.

Tulsi Manas
Tulsi Manas temple is located about 150 m south of Durga Temple built in 1964 devoted to Lord Rama, is located. It is situated at the place where Tulsidas, the great medieval oracle is supposed to have lived and written the great epic "Shri Ramcharitmanas". Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya was the founder of the university well known as Banaras Hindu University. It is judged to be the largest residential university in Asia.

Bharat Mata Temple
Bharat Mata Temple was founded by Mahatma Gandhi that lies 3 kms far apart west of Godaulia,. The enchanted structure of the temple gives a attractive glimpse to the eyes and besides of gods and goddesses, a complete relief map in marble of the whole of Indian subcontinent with the Tibetan plateau that one can explore here. It provides a complete scale for both vertically and horizontally with mountains, rivers and the holy tirthas all feasibly visible.

Durga Temple
Durga Temple, well known as the monkey temple due to many violent monkeys residing here, came into existence in 18th century. Durga Temple located 2 kms south of the old city. The temple was built in a common north Indian style with an ornated shikhara.
